PHILIPS SET FOR SPELL ON SIDELINES
Leeds United have been dealt a huge blow on the injury front following the news that star midfielder Kalvin Phillips is set for a spell on the sidelines after the England international suffered a hamstring injury during the last Premier League game, an home clash with newcomers Brentford.
The extent of the hamstring injury suffered by Philips has not been determined, but widespread reports claimed that he could spent two months on the sidelines thereby tiling him out of the festive period fixtures completely. The 26-year-old England international had earlier missed two Leeds United games in October due to a calf problem. He will certainly miss the trip to London to face Chelsea this weekend and games against the likes of Manchester City, Arsenal and Liverpool could also follow in that order.
England midfielder Philips is a key player for Leeds United and his absence would potentially be a big blow for the Whites who are very close to the relegation zone. Leeds United have six points more than the bottom three teams in the race to survive the drop at the end of the season.
Apart from Philips, Leeds United skipper Liam Cooper might miss the Chelsea game as well after he went off injured with a hamstring issue during the Brentford game.
