Leeds To Terminate Diagouraga’s Contract

Leeds United have reached an agreement with the Frenchman Toumani Diagouraga to terminate his contract. Yorkshire Evening Post reporter Phil Hay on Thursday confirmed through his personal Twitter account on Thursday that the “deal is done” for Diagouraga, to put an end to his one-and-a-half year stay at Elland Road.

It was stated that the agreement will be met on Friday and that some interested teams are already queueing to welcome his signature if he eventually becomes a free agent. Hay claims that Championship sides Barnsley and Bristol City are the first teams on the line for the 30-year old midfielder while League One outfit MK Dons are not left out in the race as well. Leeds coach proud of team

Leeds United coach Thomas Christiansen said that he is happy for his players after their good performance in the match against Birmingham City where they won by 2-0.

The win means that Leeds United are top of the Championship for the first time in 27 years.

Thomas Christiansen said that his players have performed well and that they have followed his instructions closely. He does not want to be carried away by the league position at the moment as he feels that the season is a long one and that anything can happen. However, he has praised his players for their performance and believed that there is more to come if they continue to play like this.

The 2-0 wins mean that Leeds United is unbeaten in seven games now. This means that the team has also not conceded a goal since the opening day of the season. (more…)

Can Leeds Keep This Up?

After losing star striker Chris Wood just a couple of games into the season it seemed as though it could be the start of another tough campaign in the Championship for Leeds. But two months later they are top of the table – having only recently suffered their first defeat – and confidence is high at Elland Road.

It is obviously very early in the season to make bold predictions but can Leeds keep up this good form and make a play for promotion this season? And are they missing Chris Wood at all? (more…)

TURKISH SIDE INTERESTED IN LEEDS MAN

Turkish side Besiktas are reportedly interested in Leeds United man Chris Wood.

The Whites striker has caught the eye of CoachSenolGunes. Daily Express claims the manager sent scouts to watch the player in action and report back before they can proceed with the deal.

Gunes wants Wood to serve as the replacement for Vincent Aboubakar. The 27-year old is valued £20 million by United so the Turkish side would need to break the bank to land him.

In other transfer news, Derby County want Foxes player Tom Lawrence. They submitted a bid of £7 million but Leicester City value the midfielder more than that. The player in question was on loan to Ipswich Town last season where he scored 11 times and won the club’s Player of the Year award. (more…)

GARRY MONK IS NEW BORO BOSS

Relegated side from the top flight, Middlesbrough FC have named former Leeds United coach Garry Monk as the new boss to lead the team as they settle to life in the Championship.

The club had interviewed several prospective managers but ended up with Monk.

Monk is expected to be unveiled on Monday to the public. The 38-year old left his former club recently. There are reports that he was unable to reach an agreement with the new owner of Leeds Andrea Radrizzani.

The boss has experience managing Swansea in the top flight back in 2014 before leading United to a top seven finish in the Championship this season.

Boro former coaches Steve Agnew and AitorKaranka were unable to help the club remain in the top flight after just a year there. Agnew came on in March but the rot was too bad to be rectified as they returned to the second division. (more…)

Garry Monk is not interested in contract talks

Garry Monk is doing something that has not been accomplished in a significantly long period of time as the English manager is pushing Leicester City to the top 5 spots of the English League Championship.

This is a huge improvement for Leicester City as they finished the previous season of 2015-2016 in the 13th position but with the arrival of Garry Monk and his appointment as the new head coach of Leicester City, has seen the club being consistently positioned in the top spots of the 2nd tier of English football.

Monk took over Leicester City on June 2 of 2016 as he replaced Steve Evans and even though it has not even been 1 year since he has arrived to Elland Road, fans of the club have already taken a liking to the English manager and want to see Garry Monk stay in charge of the club for an extended period of time than what his contract has stated.

The current contract of Garry Monk expires in the summer and for the past few weeks, discussions and rumors have been going on involving what is going to happen with Monk when his contract with Leicester City reaches it’s end and if he is interested in staying beyond what his original deal established.
