LEEDS HOPING TO TIE DOWN BRAZIL MIDFIELDER TO NEW DEAL
English Premier League club Leeds United are facing a huge fight to keep their star player Raphinha. The Brazil international winger is one of Leeds’ prized assets but he has constantly been linked with a move away from the club following series of consistent performances under manager Marcelo Bielsa. He was reportedly close to leaving the club last summer, with Arsenal said to have shown interest in acquiring his services but Leeds were having none of it and rebuffed any negotiations aimed at getting him away from the club.
If everything goes well, the 25-year-old could end up being the highest paid player at the club but fans believe that he deserves such a pay rise. Reports are making the rounds that Arsenal will be returning with a bid for Raphinha in the summer transfer window but Leeds are expected to make their stance unless an irresistible offer is put on the table.
Liverpool were also said to be in the running to make a bid for the forward but following the signing of Lucas Dias from FC Porto and the pursuit of Fabio Carvalho, it looks less likely that the Reds will still show any interest in signing the attacker.
Liverpool are reportedly already planning for the future and are preparing for life after their current crop of aging forwards and that’s why they’re signing young attackers as they wish to get ready for the post-Salah and Mane era.
