LEEDS UNITED NEWS: WHITES REPORTEDLY WANT TO SIGN BAMBA DIENG
Leeds United are keen on singing Marseille forward Bamba Dieng, according to 90min. Dieng is 22 years of age and made the move to Marseille after progressing through FC Diambars’ academy in Senegal, which was founded by Crystal Palace manager Patrick Vieira. He’s been labelled as “super” by journalist Robin Bairner and has made 42 appearances for Marseille, scoring nine goals. Marseille reportedly want to move the Senegal international on this summer, and it looks as if Elland Road could be a potential destination.
LEEDS CLOSING IN ON RIGHT-BACK
Leeds United are closing in on the signing of RasmusKristensen from Red Bull Salzburg in the Austrian Bundesliga. The Premier League outfit could seal the deal for £8.5m in the coming days with manager Jesse Marsch keen to reunite with the Danish right-back. Kristensen played under Marsch during his time at Red Bull Salzburg.
The report from the stables of the Daily Mail stated that Leeds United are finalising terms with Red Bull Salzburg over Kristensen and that the transfer is a matter of when it would be announced. Four-cap Danish international Kristensen has decided to sign for Leeds United ahead of fellow Premier League team Brentford and German Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund. (more…)
LEEDS UNBEATEN RUN ENDED BY CITY
Leeds United were on a five-match unbeaten run in the Premier League before they met holders Manchester City at home last weekend. At the end of proceedings, their unbeaten run had gone thanks to an emphatic 4-0 victory for the visitors. The quality of the Manchester City players proved to be the difference during the game played on Saturday evening.
Since the appointment of Jesse Marsch as the man who replaced Marcelo Bielsa, Leeds United have moved away from the relegation zone. However, they are now looking over their shoulders with the defeat to City and the huge win recorded by Everton over Chelsea on Sunday. (more…)
LEEDS UNITED U23S VS MANCHESTER CITY U23S MATCH ANALYSIS
Leeds United U23s are set to play against Manchester City U23s in front of a record Premier League 2 crowd at Elland Road this evening. Over 18,000 tickets have already been sold for the young Whites’ crucial clash which will smash the previous record set at Goodison Park in 2017. Andy Taylor’s side will need all the support they can get given their rather perilous position in the PL2 table. They sit just four points above relegation-threatened Chelsea U23s but the Blues have played a game fewer.
Add to that the fact that Leeds have to play table topping Man City and third-placed Arsenal in their final two games of the season, it will be a tall order to stay in the division. Although, as mentioned, they will be suitably backed by more fans than have ever been present at an U23s fixture at Elland Road. (more…)
LEEDS QUARTET TO MISS DOUBLE HEADER
The Leeds United quartet of Patrick Bamford, Leo Hjelde, Liam Cooper and Kalvin Philips will miss the upcoming double headerin the Premier League as new manager Jesse Marsch begins his reign at the club.
Ex-Red Bull Salzburg and RB Leipzig manager Marsch has been saddled with the responsibility of leading Leeds United away from the relegation zone after he replaced the sacked Marcelo Bielsa earlier this week. The dismissal of Bielsa as the Leeds United manager was confirmed on Sunday having led the Whites to a 4-0 home defeat to Tottenham Hotspur in the league the previous day. (more…)
