WARNOCK BACK DEFENSIVE DUO

Leeds United boss Neil Warnock has said that he is extremely confident with the current central defence pair of Tom Lees and Darren O’Dea.

The two central defenders have been part of the Leeds United first-team in the last three matches, and it seems that Warnock is sufficiently pleased with their performances that he has said that he is more likely to continue with the same pairing for the rest of the season.

After arriving at Elland Road a few months ago, Neil Warnock was expected to bring changes to the defensive pairing at Leeds United. However, the performances of Tom Lees and Darren O’Dea have been extremely good in the last few matches that Neil Warnock could stick with the same for the rest of the matches as well.

Even after the appointment of Neil Warnock, Leeds United are struggling to make it into the play-offs position. They remain seven points off the pace from the last placed team in the play-offs position – Cardiff City. Their form also has nosedived in recent weeks after Neil Warnock has just one victory in five matches. Despite this, Neil Warnock has said that both Tom Lees and Darren O’Dea have convinced the him sufficiently in order to retain them for the rest of the season before thinking about making changes to the defence in the summer.

“Young Lees was superb and he’s improved in every game. And apart from the goal on Saturday, Darren’s done everything I’ve asked of him. He got caught out for one goal but he’s done well. I’d like to (bring new players in) and I was after a centre-half but when I look at the two I’ve got at the moment, I don’t think I could get much better than that,” Warnock said after the 0-0 draw with Hull City during the weekend.

WARNOCK STICKS BY SQUAD

Leeds United manager Neil Warnock has said that he will not be bringing in a number of players to the club over the next few months. Leeds United have already brought in a number of players using the loan system, and the manager has said that he does not plan to bring in any more.

Leeds United have been chasing promotion all season and they recently sacked manager Simon Grayson in their quest to do so. Former QPR manager Neil Warnock was immediately appointed in place of Simon Grayson. He has taken upon a Leeds United side that is currently in the 10th position in the table, many points behind the play-off position, which realistically seems to be the target as of now.

However, Leeds United have just one victory to show in the last few matches and the pressure is certainly on Neil Warnock to deliver the results. There have been calls for Leeds United to sign players from bigger clubs from the Premier league on a loan deal, but the manager has recently said that he does not plan to bring in any more players on a loan deal. Neil Warnock has said that the commitment shown by the loan players is one of the main reasons for him to not look at the prospect of loan players being solution to the club’s problems.

LEEDS LOOKING AT WARNOCK

Leeds united have moved in swiftly to replace the sacked Simon Grayson, as they step up their efforts to qualify for the play-off position. Leeds United recently sacked Simon Grayson after a run of poor results that has seen them drop out of the contention for the play-offs position.

Leeds United chairman Ken Bates has made it extremely clear that it would be the most important objective of the season. After the heavy defeat suffered at the hands of Birmingham city, Ken Bates decided to act swiftly by sacking manager Simon Grayson on February 1. Since then, Leeds United have been without a manager and the arrival of Neil Warnock will be seen as a great opportunity for them to push to the play-offs position.

Neil Warnock was also recently sacked by Premier league club QPR. Despite having done a great job with QPR, the London club decided to remove Neil Warnock from his position after not seeing him as the perfect candidate to spend around £ 20 million in the January transfer window. Mark Hughes was appointed in place of Neil Warnock. After taking over as manager of Leeds United, Neil Warnock has said that he is of the opinion that there is one big challenge left in him and it is that of taking Leeds United to the Premier league.

“I feel I have one big challenge left in me and believe Leeds is a club that should be in the Premier League. I want to be the man who is able to deliver this for a set of fans who never cease to amaze me with their numbers and loyalty,” new Leeds United manager Neil Warnock said after being appointed officially by the club. Leeds United are currently in the 10th place in the championship table.

GRAYSON SACKED

Leeds United have finally decided to sack manager Simon Grayson after the humiliating defeat at the hands of Birmingham City.

The future of Simon Grayson has been open to discussions for quite some time now. Finally, the club have lost patience in their manager after the 4-1 thrashing at the hands of promotion chasing Birmingham City. One of the main targets for Simon Grayson at the start of the season was to lead a Leeds United to promotion, but at the club are currently struggling to make it into the play-off position. However, Simon Grayson is not entirely at fault for the lacklustre season for Leeds United this time around.

The club have revealed that youth team coach Neil Redfearn will be appointed in the temporary term to oversee the team. Simon Grayson has been a popular figure amongst the fans at Elland Road, but ultimately, the decision to remove him rests within the board. Simon Grayson has been coming under intense pressure recently after the club slipped out of the top six in the table. The 4-1 defeat was the final straw in many ways for the Leeds United board. There has been intense criticism for the ownership of Ken Bates, who has been criticised for not providing proper funds.
