LEEDS PLOTTING MOVE FOR CHELSEA OUTCAST

Chelsea defender FikayoTomori has been frozen out of the first team picture at the club this season and the Nigerian-born England international is said to be keen to leave the West London giants in this January transfer market. Premier League newcomers Leeds United are interested in signing Tomori as manager Marcelo Bielsa looks for cover in central defence due to the injury to new signing Robin Koch. German defender Koch is not expected back anytime soon after he underwent surgery on the knee that he injured last month. The Leeds United player was ruled out for three months in the aftermath of his surgery.

The interest of Leeds United in FikayoTomori was reported by the BBC and he could be the man to solve the defensive issues at Elland Road. Leeds United are one of the most entertaining teams in the Premier League but they also ship a lot of goals. Leeds United have one of the worst defence in the division after conceding 33 goals in just 17 league games. In the last one month, Leeds United have been on the receiving end of heavy league defeats to Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur. Leeds United were handed a 6-2 away defeat at rivals Manchester United and a 3-0 away loss at Spurs. The league newcomers also delivered heavy Premier League defeats to the duo of West Brom and Newcastle United during the said period. Leeds United thumped the Baggies 5-0 away from home and also scored five goals against the Magpies in a 5-2 victory at home.

FikayoTomoriwas linked with Everton last summer but the move didn’t pull through. He has been at Chelsea since 2005 when he joined the club at under-8 level. Chelsea manager Frank Lampard has a lot of centre back options at his disposal and he can afford to send Tomori to Leeds United.
