LEEDS BACKED TO END WINLESS RUN
Premier League newcomers Leeds United have been backed to return to winning ways at home ahead of the visit of London team West Ham United. Leeds United were tipped to beat the Hammers by former Liverpool player Mark Lawrenson who’s now a pundit with BBC Sports. He expects Leeds United to end their four-match winless run at home in the league when Marcelo Bielsa’s men play hosts to West Ham United at Elland Road on Friday night in the first match of week twelve games in the Premier League.
Leeds United have won just one of their five home games in the league on their return to the English topflight. The solitarywin came during their first home game back in the Premier League in September. Leeds United beat fellow newcomers Fulham 4-3 in that game played on the second weekend of the season. Since that week two clash with the Cottagers, Leeds United have drawn two and lost two games at home.
Leeds United played out an impressive 1-1 draw with title challengers Manchester City before losing 1-0 to Wolves in their next home game. The Wolverhampton Wanderers defeat was followed by the emphatic 4-1 loss to Champions League hopefuls Leicester City. Leeds United played out a goalless draw with 10-man Arsenal who had Senegalese attacker Nicholas Pepe sent off at the start of the second half in their last home game for Leeds United. Ex-Liverpool defender Lawrenson has tipped Leeds United to beat West Ham United 2-0 at home when they meet on Friday night.
Both Leeds United and West Ham United are coming into the game on the back of respective 3-1 defeats. Leeds United were beaten by hosts Chelsea despite taking lead, while the same scenario applied to hosts West Ham United who lost to Manchester United at the Olympic Stadium.
