Patrick Bamford looking forward to return to winning ways with Leeds United
Leeds United striker Patrick Bamford has said that the team should shed the disappointment of losing to Sheffield United and should look focus on the next game following the international break. The Yorkshire outfit were leapfrogged by Sheffield to the second automatic promotion spot at the weekend after the Blades secured a slender 1-0 triumph.
“It was one of them where if we didn’t stick our chances away, if we made a mistake they would capitalise on it. We felt we should have won, so to not come away with anything is very frustrating. It is done now, we have to carry on and focus on the next game. All of the cameras and focus was on this game, but it doesn’t change anything for us.”
Despite the setback, Leeds are just one point below the top-two positions in the Championship and they can make amends when they return from the international break. Leeds are scheduled to host struggling Millwall at Elland Road at the end of the month and the game could offer them a route to the second spot, should Sheffield drop points against Bristol City.
Elsewhere, Bamford seems to have peaked at the right time with four goals contributions from the past four matches and he should remain the key architect upfront with Kemar Roofe still on the sidelines with a knee injury. Roofe has not featured for Leeds since the 2-1 triumph over Swansea City on February 13.
